Reins of Hope Therapeutic Horseback Riding Program has been serving children and adults since 1994. Our mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals using horses. We colloborate with area school districts from Reno, Rice and Sedgwick counties to provide academics on horseback for enhanced learning. Adult riders from Disability Supports enjoy the recreational and exercise benefits of horse therapy while working to improve their social and life skills. We are currently working with Emberhope providing service for children in foster care. Our womens group exercise program focuses on rehabalitation from various health challenges including stroke and MS. We are honored to support our Veterans that have served our nation with our Hope for Hero’s program. During the summer our Read, Ride & Exercise program collaborates with Haven 4H fostering student relationships while focusing on reading, communication and social skills.

We are a member of The Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH). Our instructors provide safe and challenging lessons that meet the the goals and objectives of each individual rider. This is accomplished in a group or private lesson. Instructors must work as a team with parents, therapists and educators while adhering to PATH standards to accomplish individual goals. God continues to bless our program allowing us to provide these services for the past 30 years without raising our fee of $5 for 30 minutes of therapy. We have never turned a rider down due to the inability to pay. Our Veterans have never been charged.

Become a Volunteer

Volunteers are essential in maintaining a quality program! A volunteer’s primary responsibility is to help out the instructors with their classes and interact with the students and horses.  Volunteers are also needed to help with fundraising and other events.

Sponsor a Student or Horse

Reins of Hope will not turn a student away due to inability to pay. Scholarships are an important means of supporting our organization. A donation of $60 will provide a student with six weeks of 1 hour riding lessons or 12 -30 minute sessions.

We must take care of our 6 therapists – our HORSES!

We use 1 bag of feed every day. You can call Custom Mills at 620-662-4555 or 800-491-7369 & for less than $15 you can purchase a bag over the phone and they will deliver it to our center for free!

We love HAY donations too!

Donate

Reins of Hope is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization; however, it does require financial support to care for our students and our equine therapists. Please consider supporting Reins of Hope financially; every dollar will benefit the students, and a student has never been turned away due to an inability to pay. All donations are tax-deductible.
